iPhone Games – The top list of games to download to your iPhone for free

freeipodsetc.co.uk has searched far and wide to find you a list of the most addictive free games for the iPhone that are available to play. The majority of these games can be accessed via Wi-Fi or 3G but some may require you to download them to a jailbroken Apple iPhone. Please link back to this site if you’ve found it useful. We’ve already compiled a list of games for the iPod Touch but that was a while ago and so many of the links may not be working. The games for the iPod Touch will also work on the iPhone as they share the same Apple operating system but with the last list slightly out of date we deemed it necessary to compile a new one with the release of the iPhone 4!

What is unlocking/jailbreaking

In short, this is when you override the iPods operating system. You are then able to access the iPod using your computer and then change how the iPod runs.

Once jailbreaked or ‘unlocked’ a user is able to read/edit the locked operating system files on the iPod Touch. There is some risk to jailbreaking your iPod Touch or iPhone. Is there a software hack you can do to play PS2 games on a 40GB PS3?

So when the PS2 came out you spent hundreds of pounds to fill your games rack with the latest games. Now the PS3 is out you still have some of those timeless classics. Thing is, you’ve gone and bought the 40GB PS3 which cannot play PS2 games.

You’ve come here to find out how to play your PS2 games on your 40GB PS3 by using some software transfer. The truth is, you cannot simply transfer the software from a 60GB or 80GB PS3 and here’s why, courtesy of a Yahoo Answer:

The emulation is not purely software-based for either machine (80GB & 60GB) so playing PS2 games on them doesn’t simply use software.

The 60GB machine used a 100% hardware emulation approach including the “emotion engine” to natively run PS2 games. To be clear, there are actually 2 parts of the emulation in the 60GB, usually referred to as EE+GS emulation. EE is the “emotion engine”, GS is the “graphics synthesizer”. Basically, the PS3 reads and runs the PS2 game using the emotion chip and emulates the graphics with a PS2 graphics synthesizer.

The 80GB, however, uses a part software, part hardware emulation. The part of the hardware emulation that was removed was the “emotion engine” hence how everyone refers to this difference. This was replaced by software emulation, which is usually regarded as inferior. However, the 80GB actually still has the GS hardware in it to emulate the graphics for PS2 games–hence replicating this emulation in a 40GB machine is not a simple task of just moving the software emulation.

So, to be concise, no, there is no convenient software-based method for you to make your 40GB PS3 play PS2 games, as the 40GB has none of this (no EE, no GS, no software emulator).

So there you go all you 40GB PS3 owners. Seems like your stuffed!

3. MPEG-4 video, up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats

So you’ve got all your MP3 files on your iPod but they aren’t on your PC. Maybe you’ve reformatted your harddrive without backing up or maybe you’ve just bought a new PC. This guide will show you how you can transfer your music back from your iPod to your PC

Follow the steps below to transfer your music from your iPod to your PC:

1. The first step is to make sure you have the most up to date iTunes. This will allow you to get your purchased music off your iPod easily.
2. Now connect your iPod to your PC. iTunes will start up. If you have auto sync on you have to close iTunes before it begins to erase your iPod and delete all your songs. If you don’t have auto sync on then you simply press cancel instead of the ‘Erase and Sync’ button.
3. The next step is to recover all the purchased music you have on your iPod. This can be done by using iTunes.
4. Simply go to ‘Authorise Computer’ on the ‘Store menu’ as seen below and then enter the iTunes Apple ID and password which you used to buy the music with.

5. Then go to the ‘file’ menu and then click ‘Transfer Purchases from yourname’s iPod’

6. Then click ‘Transfer Purchases’ on the next popup window. All purchased content found on the iPod will now transfer from your iPod to your PC and iTunes.
7. So now you want to transfer songs which you didn’t purchase. To do this you have to either do it manually or use some software to do it for you.
8. First I will go through it manually. To start with you have to make your iPod act as a disk. Click on your iPod on the list on the left and then click “Enable Disk Use”

9. Now go to ‘My Computer’ and then by ‘Devices with Removable Storage” should be your iPod. Double click on that. You should see a list of folders. If you cannot see one called ‘iPod_control’ then click on ‘Tools’ then ‘Folder options’ then click ‘View’ then scroll down to ‘Show hidden files and folders’.
10. Now click on ‘iPod_Control’ and then go to ‘Music’ and then you will see folders which contain your music files. Simply drag the files into where you want to store them on your PC. You can even just add the whole folder using the iTunes and then going to ‘File’ and then ‘Add folder to Library’. (you must make folder unhidden first by right clicking ‘iPod control’ going to properties and then unchecking the hidden check. They will not have the correct names until you add them to iTunes. iTunes should then rename the files correctly.

If you do it this way you may not be able to get your playlists, ratings, play counts, last played details etc. back. I would reccommend you using a 3rd party software to tranfer the files as you will then be able to get some playlists back. I would reccommend trying iDump.
